Format[edit]

Given the frequency of edits and changes, the "value" of the pretty colored rowspan/col span is greatly outweighed by the burden on editing and maintaining. If in 2017, someone wants to go back to the now fairly stable article and prettify it, that is an option. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 15:44, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The pretty-fication of these articles has long been the source of trouble with all the colspans and row spans and it being extraordinarily difficult for the average person to figure out how to add and delete rows without mucking up the entire table. I would also point out that there are WP:ACCESSIBILITY concerns with the old version of this article, as no screen reader would be able to parse

E<br />
B<br />

Managerarc, yeah, I noticed that and did nothing. Since the discussion above, I've had a few more experiences with these tables, and I've come to be a little confused about how much of an accessibility issue it really is. I do know that when you have vertical text like that noted above, that's definitely a problem. I think the biggest problem with the rowspans, is that the casual passer-by always screws it up. It's a nuisance. I'm still on board with getting rid of them, just lazy. Also, if you click on the sorting tab, the rowspans go away. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:35, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WP:DTT[edit]

In this edit I resubmitted the simpler table formatting. As previously noted, (see above "Format") section,) the colorful rowspan-laden tables do not comply with WP:DTT and do not promote WP:ACCESSIBILITY. The simpler version complies, promotes accessibility for users who employ screen readers, are properly sortable, and don't require a high level of skill for editors to add and subtract films, where historically every other addition or subtraction broke tables and required other editors to clean up after the n00bz. I will point out that WP:ACCESSIBILITY represents existing community consensus as a Manual of Style guideline, so unless someone has a provocative argument for why we should use the colorful tables other than "they're pretty and that's the way we've always done them," we should err on the side of access, simplicity, and MOS compliance. Orphaned references in List of Bollywood films of 2016[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of Bollywood films of 2016's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

BTW can I also suggest a trusted editor to keep an eye on these type of articles because although they are semi-protected; these articles are very prone to being edited by new editors and they often unconsciously (or consciously) delete some parts of articles. Thanks.
